Can I upgrade my SSHIA membership category?
Yes, SSHIA members can upgrade their membership category as their qualifications and experience grow. Upgrades are subject to meeting the eligibility criteria for the target category.

To upgrade your membership category, log in to the SSHIA portal and navigate to My Membership > Upgrade Category. You will be prompted to upload supporting documents (e.g., updated CV, additional certificates, or employer letter) and pay any difference in the annual fee. The Membership Committee reviews upgrade requests within 10 working days. Common upgrades include Student to Associate, Associate to Full Member, and Full Member to Fellow (which requires a formal nomination).
For the Fellow category specifically, you cannot self-nominate. A current Fellow or the SSHIA Board must nominate you. The nomination must be supported by evidence of significant contributions to health informatics in South Sudan, such as published research, policy contributions, or leadership in major health informatics projects.
