To apply as a mentor:

  1. Log in to the SSHIA Member Portal at sshia.org.
  2. Navigate to Mentorship > Apply as Mentor.
  3. Complete the mentor application form, including your professional experience, areas of expertise, the number of mentees you can support, and your availability.
  4. Submit the application. The Mentorship Committee will review your application and contact you within 2 weeks.

Mentors must be SSHIA Full Members or Fellows with at least 5 years of experience in health informatics or a related field. Mentors in the paid track are compensated for their time.

Mentoring is a rewarding experience that benefits both the mentor and the mentee. Mentors often report that the process deepens their own understanding of their field, expands their professional network, and gives them a sense of contribution to the health informatics community in South Sudan. SSHIA recognises outstanding mentors through annual awards at the SSHIA Conference.
