To apply as a mentor:
- Log in to the SSHIA Member Portal at sshia.org.
- Navigate to Mentorship > Apply as Mentor.
- Complete the mentor application form, including your professional experience, areas of expertise, the number of mentees you can support, and your availability.
- Submit the application. The Mentorship Committee will review your application and contact you within 2 weeks.
Mentors must be SSHIA Full Members or Fellows with at least 5 years of experience in health informatics or a related field. Mentors in the paid track are compensated for their time.
Mentoring is a rewarding experience that benefits both the mentor and the mentee. Mentors often report that the process deepens their own understanding of their field, expands their professional network, and gives them a sense of contribution to the health informatics community in South Sudan. SSHIA recognises outstanding mentors through annual awards at the SSHIA Conference.
