Can I be both a mentor and a mentee at the same time?
SSHIA encourages a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing. Some members participate in the programme in both roles simultaneously.

Yes, SSHIA members can participate as both a mentor and a mentee simultaneously, provided they have the time and capacity to fulfil both roles effectively. This is common among mid-career professionals who are mentoring junior colleagues while also receiving mentorship from more senior professionals. If you wish to participate in both roles, indicate this in your application and the Mentorship Committee will take your availability into account when making matches.
Peer mentorship — where two professionals at similar career stages support each other's development — is also encouraged by SSHIA. Peer mentorship pairs can be formed through the portal's networking features and are eligible for a peer mentorship certificate upon completion of a structured 6-month peer learning programme.
