How can we strengthen the SSHIA community discussion boards?
The SSHIA community discussion boards are a valuable resource but participation could be higher. How can we encourage more members to participate and make the boards more valuable?

Making the discussion boards more valuable requires: ensuring that questions are answered promptly (SSHIA should designate moderators who respond to unanswered questions); featuring interesting discussions in the SSHIA newsletter to drive traffic to the boards; recognising active contributors through the CPD system (awarding CPD points for substantive contributions); and making the boards mobile-friendly so that members can participate from their smartphones.
The quality of discussions depends on the quality of questions. SSHIA can help by seeding the boards with interesting questions and case studies that stimulate discussion. Inviting guest experts to participate in discussions on specific topics can also increase engagement. The goal should be to make the discussion boards the go-to resource for health informatics questions in South Sudan.
