How can health informatics professionals influence health policy in South Sudan?
As a health informatics professional, I want to contribute to health policy development in South Sudan but I am not sure how to get involved. What are the pathways for health informatics professionals to influence health policy?

There are several pathways for health informatics professionals to influence health policy: joining SSHIA and participating in its advocacy activities; contributing to Ministry of Health technical working groups; publishing research and policy briefs that provide evidence for policy decisions; engaging with media and civil society on health informatics issues; and participating in public consultations on health policy. The most effective advocates are those who combine technical expertise with strong communication skills and a clear understanding of the policy process.
SSHIA offers a leadership development programme for members who want to develop their policy advocacy skills. The programme covers policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, communication, and advocacy strategy. Contact the SSHIA Secretariat for more information about the next cohort.
