Abstract

Traditional medicine remains widely practiced in South Sudan. This study examines traditional healing practices, community perceptions, and potential for integration with formal healthcare systems. The research bridges indigenous knowledge with evidence-based medicine for holistic healthcare delivery.

Methodology

Ethnographic study combining participant observation, interviews with traditional healers, and community surveys. Assessment of common traditional practices. Stakeholder dialogue on integration models. Safety and efficacy review of selected practices.

Key Findings

85% of rural populations consult traditional healers first. Strong cultural acceptance of traditional medicine. Collaboration models show improved patient outcomes. Training traditional birth attendants reduces maternal complications.
