What is the SSHIA approach to competency-based health informatics education?
I have heard about competency-based education in health informatics. What competencies should health informatics professionals in South Sudan have and how does SSHIA training address them?

SSHIA has developed a Health Informatics Competency Framework for South Sudan that identifies the core competencies needed by health informatics professionals at different career levels. The framework covers: health data management; health information system operation and administration; data analysis and visualisation; digital health implementation; health informatics leadership; and research and evidence generation. SSHIA training programmes are mapped to these competencies so that participants can track their professional development.
The competency framework is available in the SSHIA member portal under Resources > Professional Development. Members can use the framework to assess their current competencies, identify gaps, and plan their professional development. SSHIA mentors can also use the framework to guide mentorship conversations.
