How can South Sudan develop health informatics trainers?
There is a shortage of qualified health informatics trainers in South Sudan. How can we build a cadre of skilled trainers who can deliver high-quality health informatics training?

Developing health informatics trainers requires a train-the-trainer approach: identify experienced health informatics professionals who have both technical expertise and teaching ability; provide them with training in adult learning principles, curriculum design, and facilitation skills; support them to develop and deliver training programmes; and provide ongoing mentorship and quality assurance. SSHIA runs a Train-the-Trainer programme for health informatics professionals who want to become certified SSHIA trainers.
International partnerships can accelerate trainer development. SSHIA has partnerships with health informatics training institutions in Kenya and Uganda that provide opportunities for South Sudanese trainers to observe and co-facilitate training programmes. This exposure to high-quality training practice is invaluable for developing training skills.
