What are the best practices for electronic patient registration in South Sudan health facilities?
Our facility is transitioning from paper-based patient registration to an electronic system. We are using OpenMRS but facing challenges with data entry speed and staff resistance. What are the best practices others have used to make this transition successful?

Training is critical but it needs to be ongoing, not just a one-time event. We have a designated super-user in each department who provides day-to-day support and can escalate issues to the IT team. This has been much more effective than relying on the IT team alone.
Start with a pilot in one department before rolling out to the whole facility. This allows you to identify and fix problems on a small scale before they become facility-wide issues. We piloted in the outpatient department for three months before expanding to inpatient and maternity.
