How can we improve immunisation data quality in South Sudan?
Immunisation coverage data in South Sudan is often incomplete and inconsistent. As a health information officer, I am looking for practical strategies to improve the quality of immunisation data at facility and county level.

Regular supportive supervision visits that include a data quality component are very effective. Supervisors can identify and correct data quality problems on the spot and provide coaching to health workers who are struggling with data collection.
Standardising the immunisation register and tally sheets across all facilities reduces errors and makes data aggregation easier. We worked with the county health team to develop a simplified register that captures all the required data elements in a clear, easy-to-use format.
