Interoperability Standards for Health Information Exchange in East Africa

Abstract

A review of interoperability frameworks relevant to South Sudan and recommendations for national health information exchange architecture aligned with regional standards.

Methodology

Mixed-methods design combining quantitative analysis of routine data with qualitative interviews of health workers and managers.

Findings

The study finds that targeted capacity building and mentoring significantly improve data quality indicators, and recommends institutionalising such programmes nationally.
