Career path from health information officer to systems analyst?

I have worked as an HIO for four years. What skills and certifications should I pursue to move into systems analysis? Any SSHIA programmes to recommend?

Great question. In our state we introduced a daily tally sheet that is checked by the facility in-charge every Friday — discrepancies dropped noticeably.

We do something similar. The key is making the check routine, not an audit event.
